Elon Musk claims that Twitter advertising by Apple has stopped.

According to a recent post from Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, Apple is claimed to have stopped running ads on the microblogging platform.

Elon Musk followed up on the news of Apple suspending its Twitter advertising plans by questioning whether the electronics giant was opposed to free speech in the nation and tagging Apple CEO Tim Cook in his Twitter thread.

It’s also reported by an Elon Musk tweet, that Apple also plans to “delete” the Twitter application from it’s App Store, and according to Musk, Apple is not disclosing the reason for doing so.

Musk claimed earlier in November that Twitter had experienced a “huge” loss in revenue and attributed this on activist groups pressing advertisers.

Since Musk completed his purchase of Twitter, a number of businesses, including General Mills Inc. and luxury manufacturer Audi, have postponed their Twitter advertising. General Motors Co. additionally disclosed that it had also momentarily halted all paid advertising initiatives on the social media network.

Apple reportedly spent $131,600 on Twitter advertisements between November 10 and November 16, down from $220,800 between October 16 and October 22, the week before Musk finalized the Twitter acquisition deal.
